Michelle began working the faire circuit in Folsom, CA in 1993 with St. Matthew's Guild. Not long after she began her own horse guild with the help of a few friends. It was known as St. Equinnus and was specifically created for northern California events. She also tried her hand in the Queen's Court with the Guild of St. George as Elizabeth Chandler, a servant to the Queen, and as Lady Margaret Herbert, niece to the Earl of Pembroke. In 1995 St. Equinnus was asked to assist with the new joust that was coming to the Folsom Faire and her passion for faire was born. Since that fateful day she has participated with New Riders throughout the west coast. Owned and operated by Kelly Bailey, New Rider's is a full contact Joust company based out of Sarasota, FL. They perform at many events throughout the US and have been featured in movies, commercials and on the History Channel. Though the events in the west are currently limited, Michelle continues to make time to participate with New Rider's as time and venues allow.

Lonny began working faire in 1986 with Negra Khan Armory as a boothie. He continued his employment until his deployment to the Gulf in 1990. Upon his return in 1992 he was recruited for St. Anne's as a rider but was stolen away by Clan MacColin and has been with them ever since. Lonny is currently a knighted String Sergeant with various duties due his station (and then some). Michelle participates where needed and is currently serving the MacColin as an acting squad leader. Our children spend their time learning to dance and craft. Clan MacColin is a historically accurate American Highland Clan 30 years in the making and 3 generations strong. We have had exhibits at highland games, renaissance faires, reenactment competitions, educational seminars and have been featured in movies such as "The Army of Darkness" as well as on the History Channel, Discovery Channel and other history based films. We have also been available for various venues as event and personal security. Our entire family, immediate and extended, participates every year with MacColin in events throughout Southern CA.
This Page was created to share one of our many interests and to honor the people we have spent our existence with. Re-enactments have been a large part of our life's work, creating characters, building costumes, camps and friendships. We've worked hard with a lot of blood, sweat and energy poured into our alter-existence and we are quite proud of these accomplishments. With a collective of over 3 decades of involvement we have become well educated, historically inclined individuals who in turn spend every waking moment looking for ways to create and share our knowledge while continuing to learn. We participate in various venues throughout the west coast, and occasionally as guest speakers at schools. For those who are further interested please feel free to contact us. Much gratitude goes out to all of the folks who have taken these pictures over the years, many who's names we don't recall but the images have given us a lifetime of memories. Thank you!

EDUCATION
Through Clan MacColin we offer guest speaking for all education levels, assemblies and period demonstrations. We specialize in hands-on teaching in crafts, everyday items, weapons and, yes, even artillary. The members of MacColin pride themselves on the many hours we put into researching our history, not only in politics of the time but in fiber arts, clothing, warfare and everyday living. It is with this knowledge that we are able to give to our communities a deeper look into the lives of the Irish and Scottish Highlanders as it was in the 16th century.
Our family offers in-school demonstrations based on grade level and the educational needs of the teachers. We are available for everything from 30 minute assemblies to 2 hour lectures per class and can accommidate moderate outdoor exhibits upon request. Our lecture fees vary depending on time, location, personel and amount of equipment needed. Please contact us or Chief Steven Gillan (colinchief@hotmail.com) for pricing.
