| We have more than just a pack of dogs. Our Houlas are our family. Each dog has been highly socialized, is handled daily and it is ensured that we know each individual like we know a best friend. They are protectors of our home, companions on the trail, guardians of our stock and sentries for our children. Each dog will work hard, play tough and are as loyal as they come. Our decision to become Catahoula owners wasn't an easy one. It all started around 1996 when Michelle met an elderly cowboy while working for a veterinary clinic in Sacramento. His dog, who was as old as he was, came in for routine health care about every three months or so and the stories the cowboy shared were as intriguing as the next and over time Michelle grew quite fond of the pair. When Lonny's wolf-dog and long time companion, Rain passed away in 2001 we began the search for a breed of dog that had both the qualities of a working dog with a little "wolf sense" thrown in for good measure and yet was still safe enough to have as a family dog. It was then that we remembered the old cowboy and began our research on the Catahoula. In 2002 we contacted Steven Young of El Dorado Catahoulas, met with him and came home with our first 2 Houlas, littermates, Jethro & Spirit. Since that fateful day we've began researching bloodlines, genetics and testing methods and have begun to build our foundation stock based on our findings. In February 2007 our first litter was born to Kanati & Towanjila and we are proud to say we were quite impressed with the results. With educated minds and a strong mentored backing we hope to continue to be of service to the Catahoula breed for many years to come and we thank the old cowboy for letting us know that - "There will never be another dog like this one." |

| Our dogs, like our shoes, are comfortable. They might be a bit out of shape and a little worn around the edges, but they fit well. -Bonnie Wilcox (Old Dogs, Old Friends) |
