We have been so busy I've forgotten to post! Between building pens, pounding posts and
preparing for the Renaissance Faire long haul time has somehow slipped right past us. We
hope everyone is well. I will try to post pictures of our many projects as time allows.

So far this year has not only continued to slip on by but it's been ever chaotic here on the
farm as our time away from home over the years has begun to show. Our pipes have been
chewed through, our kitchen floor has bowed causing small hills and valleys in our house and
our life support system aka the air conditioner died. We also had a run in with a chicken
eating squirrel (yes they are carnivorous) and lost a little under half of our young stock. On
the up side we had a great goat kidding season and the kids are on vacation finally. So here
we are...fixing what needs to be fixed and trying desperately to keep on top of things. We
wish everyone well and for those of you who send holiday and birthday gifts...Lowe's gift
cards are a wonderful things. Blessings - The Rawlings

"Nothing is permanent"
We remind ourselves everyday that everyday is new. We are grateful that we are here, healthy and alive. We look at our surroundings, at what we have and who we are as individuals and acknowledge that we have more than most and for that we are truly blessed. Recent economic developments have not left us desolate though we do quietly struggle to keep our heads above water and are thankful for those few family and friends that have been here to make it possible. When we begin to feel disheartened by lifes obstacles we remind ourselves that nothing is permanent, everything changes and our expectations of ourselves are significantly higher than what others have placed on us. Eventually the things we need to do will get done. Progress has halted by no fault of our own and we are learning patience. For those facing the same issues you have our sincere understanding and support. We'll let ya'll know when we find the light at the end of the tunnel. Until then, bear with us. We're not surrendering just merely planning our next strategy.

"Changes"
We have made the difficult decision to make some changes in order to continue doing some
of the things we are passionate about. We have decided to sell our goat herd in order to
place more focus on our dogs and home. We're hoping that this will help us to grow and
further accomplish the little things that need to get done on our property as well as provide
better equipment and more time to spend with our lovely pack of crazy Houlas.
We hope to see some of you at future shows and events!

So we've decided to forego a few shows and things in order to FINALLY began erecting our
dog run system which will consist of (6) 8'x16 double dog runs to start. This will be enclosed
by an exercise yard. Plotting and measurements have started and pretty soon poof! we will
have the beginnings of our facility. Pictures to come as construction begins. Hope you're all
having a great summer!
