Live A Life That Matters
written by Michael Josephson

Ready or not, someday it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured Or forgotten, will pass to someone else.

Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance. It will not matter what you owned or
what you were owed. Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear.

So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire. The wins and losses that once seemed
so important will fade away. It won't matter where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you
lived, at the end.

It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.
Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured? What will matter is not what you
bought, but what you built; not what you got, but what you gave.

What will matter is not your success,
but your significance.

What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught. What will matter is every act of
integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate
your example.

What will matter is not your competence, but your character. What will matter is not how many people
you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone. What will matter is not your memories,
but the memories that live in those who loved you.

What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.
Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.

Choose to live a life that matters.

Update 12/23/09

  Pardon Us While We Evolve!

We will be making some HUGE changes here on the farm as we are finally in pursuit of our
long awaited dreams. We have spent years reading, learning and applying and we are so close
we can taste it! Our cottage industry weavery is now in the planning stages and we're looking
at 1-2 years
minimum for commercial level production. We are, however, currently producing
at a much smaller level and all available products will be on our handcrafts pages.

Our plan is to produce luxury hand and machine spun yarns as well as hand woven fabrics. We
will also be offering fiber processing services in the future. Knitted, Crocheted and sewn items
will also be available and on a smaller scale, some bone, metal and leather work.

In the meantime, we are dispersing our current ranch stock so that we may focus on the path
ahead. We have horses, goats and poultry available for very reasonable prices. Please email
us for more information.

Our Catahoulas will remain with us. We will be taking a break from breeding though we will
maintain our breeders certification but if you need help finding a pup we will be more than
happy to answer any questions or point you in the right direction. Feel free to utilize the
information that we have provided on this site. There are links to our recommended breeders
and rescues located on our Catahoula page as well as breed info, etc. Our males may also be
available for stud at a later date to select outside females. We are hoping to continue showing
the dogs in 2010 so look for us at the CA shows.

                                                                      Blessings,
